Wildland Adventures has a knack for designing trips that travelers won’t soon forget, and they are inviting travelers to join them on two new adventures as they strive to create award worthy journeys.

From July 5 – 17, 2013, Kirsten Gardner, Wildland’s South America program director, will be leading travelers on a special escorted trek to Machu Picchu and the Virgen del Carmen festival in Peru. The Escorted Trek to Machu Picchu is a physical, spiritual and cultural journey along ancient footpaths through the high Andes to the legendary ruins of Machu Picchu with accommodation in full-service lodges, offering comfort along the way. And, the Virgen del Carmen Festival on July 16, 2013, is one of the most authentic native religious celebrations in the Andes that blends pre-Columbian pagan rites and Roman Catholic traditions in a colorful and lively performance of parading and dancing. The Escorted Trek to Machu Picchu starts at $5,795 with an optional seven day extension into the Amazon lowlands of Peru’s Manu National Park and Biosphere region for $2,700 per person.

From July 12 – 21, 2013, Central America Program Director Grettel Calderon and Marketing Director Jonathan Burnham will be escorting a group on the Escorted Nicaragua Adventure Tour. The trip includes opportunities to hike, bike and kayak through the rural villages and natural landscapes of volcanoes, lakes and tropical beaches, while experiencing the rich cultural history of the country. In addition, Burnham will be documenting the trip and will provide travelers with images and video of their adventures. The Nicaragua tour starts at $2,600.

Wildland Adventures meticulously plans new itineraries, not only to discover new destinations but also to make deeper connections have more meaningful experiences where they travel. Sometimes, destination experts who designed a new trip will personally escort their travelers to ensure it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something Kurt Kutay, founding director of Wildland, has been doing since the company was founded in 1986.

These escorted trips have become sought-after by many travelers wanting to travel with not only local in-country expert guides, but also with the in-house destination experts who designed the itinerary and consulted with them to plan their trip. With two new escorted trips planned for 2013, Wildland adventurers might find themselves test-driving a future “Tour of a Lifetime.”

The five National Geographic “Tour of a Lifetime” trips with Wildland Adventures include: Bedouin Trek to Petra (2013), Tigers and Travels in India (2011),Voyaging Among the Dodecanese of Greece and Turkey (2009),Maasailand Safari: Living Among the Maasai (2007), and Undiscovered Belize (2006).
