Gracing the black carpet in a stunning red gown, Alicia Keys was out on the town for a good cause. On November 7, New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom was filled with celebrities and society personalities coming together for Keep a Child Alive’s (KCA) 10th annual Black Ball. Sherry-Lehmann was at the center of it all again, continuing their partnership for the third year. The event hosted by KCA’s Alicia Keys featured amazing performances by Keys, Pharrell Williams, Carole King, Roy Ayers, Kathleen Battle and Laura Mvula followed by sounds from Swizz Beatz.
The room was very spirited during the live auction to benefit KCA. Sherry-Lehmann donated a once-in-a-lifetime experience; a private dinner at Le-Bilboquet in NYC, paired with top wines and champagnes hand selected by the expert staff at Sherry-Lehmann and accompanied by a private serenade by Alicia Keys. After a heated battle for the Sherry-Lehmann lot, the final bid of $100,000 was matched by a separate pledge of $150,000, raising a total of $250,000 for KCA.
It was an evening filled with great performances and amazing wines and spirits. Most importantly, the event raised $4 million for a great cause, providing lifesaving HIV treatment, care and support to children and families affected by HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa and India.
