For most of the United States winter has fallen, and many of us are making plans for the holiday season. While some of us will be driving further into the snow and sleet to visit relatives in un-exotic locales, a lucky few will have planned a trip to somewhere sunny and warm where they can swim and break free from the cold dark monotony of winter. To recharge for the coming year, perhaps a yacht charter is all you need to enjoy a holiday vacation and reboot while quenching your thirst for adventure. If you want to be one of those people there is still time, and you can read on for some great ideas on where to sail off to this holiday season.

The South Pacific

Good news, everyone. It is summer on the other side of the world, and you can go there! This area includes French Polynesia and Australia along with a plethora of tiny, interesting islands. Traveling to this area will definitely quench your thirst for adventure as you sail farther and farther away from home and closer to the warm tropics. You can visit the Great Barrier Reef, which is the world’s largest coral reef. Snorkeling or Scuba Diving in this area would be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. You can choose to visit the bustling and beautiful Sydney with its world famous opera house, or opt to go to a serene and tiny island with a unique culture like Fiji or the Cook Islands.

The Windward Islands

If you want to stay in this hemisphere and be a snowbird, that can also be easily arranged. You can sail on a yacht charter to the Windward Islands, also known as The Grenadines. This area is called the windwards because of its strong and steady winds which facilitate wonderful sailing adventures. The most popular Windward Islands are St. Vincent, Bequia, Mustique, and Tobago Cays. All have gorgeous beaches, hotels, and shopping. These islands are a great place to experience ecotourism and enjoy water sports like windsurfing, diving and kayaking.

This Hawaiian island is an exotic paradise you can visit without even leaving the United States. This lush, nature filled island is the oldest of the Hawaiian archipelago. This is an outdoor-lover’s dream as there are not many roads or highly populated areas. It is called the Garden Island because of its amazing flora and rolling hills. This is a great vacation to take to get outside and move your body in the water and on the beach. This island has more than 60 beaches where you can snorkel, swim and surf. You can get a taste of the culture and history of the island by visiting a local sugar plantation.

In conclusion, life is short and dreary winters should be broken up with travels to interesting places. A great time to do this is during a holiday vacation with your loved ones, and the time is now to sail off to a warm place to live life to the fullest!
