Salento is found at the “heel” of the Italian “boot” and is a sub peninsula of the main Italian peninsula. It is an incredibly popular tourist place to visit as it is very well known for its excellent beaches, clear and crystal water, wine and superb olive oil. Puglia is very well known for its trulli houses (traditional dry stone huts with conical roofs) and Bari, which is a port for the Greek island ferries.
Puglia’s southernmost province, Salento, is exceptionally special as it has a great mix of culture, traditions and full of southern Italian exuberance. From the remains of Greek and Roman temples and pre historic monuments to the heavily Arabic architecture of Gallipoli, the province truly has a diverse and unique look to its scenery.
Located between the Murge and the Upper Salento is the historic town of Cegile Messapica, which is where you will find the luxury villa Trulli Onde. There is nowhere better to stay then at this exquisite and traditional Puglian villa is set in the wonderful heart of the countryside and is only a few kilometres from the endearing town of Ostuni. The villa consists of three houses which have all been carefully revamped and furbished and can sleep a total of 16 if need be.
The main house, “Lamia”, has three decent sized double bedrooms and two alcoves, one with a single bed and another with two single beds. It also has three bathrooms, a dining room, a living room with a fireplace and a fully functional kitchen. There is also a gorgeous porch and terrace, where you can dine under the stars and take in the charming surroundings that are on offer. There is the option of three additional beds for an added extra cost. The second house, “Trulletto”, is cute and cozy as it has one bedroom and a bathroom and the last is a small studio-style annex with a double bedroom and bathroom.
Other stand out features have got to be the stunning swimming pool which is surrounded by the gorgeous garden and is perfect for sunbathing, relaxing and al fresco dining. On top of all this is the rooftop terrace where you can admire the marvellous views of the landscape whilst getting a sun tan.
