The advancements in smartphone technology means that they can be utilized for everything, from playing tunes to playing games now. Gaming is a particularly popular use of them and these are the five best for this – whether it is a simple game of roulette at or the fancy graphics of puzzle games like The Room Two.

LG G3 (from £250)

This is easily the smartphone that gives you the strongest gaming specs at a budget price. The True HD-IPS + LCD display is 5.5 inches in size with 1440 x 2560 resolution (538-ppi pixel density) and the Krait 400 quad-core processor can handle everything from a game of roulette to the high end likes of Asphalt 8.

Apple iPhone 6 (from £539)

This is a lot more expensive than the former and the screen is smaller (4.7 inches) but still big enough to view the eye candy graphics of games only available to iOS gamers (think Infinity Blade III). Another big plus with this is that storage space can rise to 128 GB, which means a lot of games, although the price is definitely an issue.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (from £760)

This phone comes with a hefty price tag, and with a 5.1-inch screen (smaller than the LG G3) and similar clarity levels as that phone, you might not want to pay it. However 128GB storage and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS might persuade you. Plus the curved body is comfortable to hold during lengthy online poker or Room Two sessions.

Huawei Honor 6 (from £249)

Another decent budget gaming smartphone, here you get 5 inches of HD screen, with 445-ppi pixel density and 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Mali-T628 MP4 graphics chip is also well up to the demands of The Room Two or Asphalt 8: Airborne, and the 3100 mAh battery is another gaming advantage.

HTC Desire Eye (£399)

This has a mid-range price, but there is nothing middling about the gaming specs. The screen is 5.2 inches in size, while the processor is that Krait 400 2.3 GHz one. You also get a fine Adreno 330 graphics chip suitable for simple casino game graphics and more sophisticated ones, so it is a solid choice.

These are all good gaming smartphones, but the LG G3 gives you the specs at a great price.
