The scenery-rich Ionian island of Corfu is swathed in olive, lemon and orange trees, elms and tall cypresses, giving it a distinctive luscious beauty that has inspired many. Forming the edge of the northwestern frontier of Greece, it is a popular destination with holidaymakers looking to relax in the sun and enjoy spectacular landscapes, abundant wildlife and sparkling aquamarine water.

Southern Corfu, particularly Kavos, attracts hordes of hedonistic party-goers and is heavily anglicized. If this isn’t your scene, Corfu is a very large island and has many peaceful areas that offer a more serene way of life. The best way to enjoy these places is to rent a villa with your friends and family. The standard of accommodation in Corfu is very high, particularly on the north east coast, where the rugged coastline meets the crystal clear Ionian Sea.
